Jesus Is Good

The Lord Jesus is good. There is no one good but Him. Everything was created by Him and for Him and everything is owned by Him. I am so thankful that He is good for there are countless things that are unknown to us and being that He is good and controls all things, one can rest in His goodness.

Jesus is worthy to be praised at all times. He is worthy of glory and honor and wealth and power and blessing and wisdom and might and dominion forever and ever. You could never praise Him too much.

God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne. Jesus sits at the right hand of the Father until all things are put under His feet. His enemies, and where His enemies dwell, will be made a footstool for His feet. Heaven is God’s throne and the earth is His footstool. He is big. The heavens cannot contain Him. He fills heaven and earth.

Jesus sees all things, knows all things, and nothing is too difficult for Him. No one can lessen His power in any way. No one can stop Him from doing what He would please to do. Everything that He would please to do is good.

Anything good that anyone has or experiences is only because Jesus is good. Goodness pours from Him like a fountain. Life pours from Him. Satisfaction pours from Him. Joy and happiness pour from Him. Love pours from Him. Kindness pours from Him. Gentleness pours from Him. Justice pours from Him. Faithfulness pours from Him. Righteousness pours from Him. He is the Fountain of Living Waters.

Jesus is the only one who can satisfy to the full. He alone can satiate the soul. In His presence is fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.

To all who call upon Him in sincerity and truth, He is a shield and a refuge. To those who put their trust in Him, He is a deliverer and defender of their souls. He is a good teacher.

There is no one more patient than Jesus. He is slow to anger. He gives favor to those who do not deserve it. He never gives punishment to those who do not deserve it. He owes no man or woman.

There is no one more beautiful than Jesus. He knows what beauty the eye beholds. He created the eye. He knows what beauty the ear hears. He created the ear. He is the Bright Morning Star. He dwells in unapproachable light. The splendor of His magnificence is more than can be dreamt or imagined. He is without flaw and impeccably perfect from every angle and in every respect in the whole of His being.

The authority that Jesus carries is matched by no other. He speaks a word and it is done. His words are pure and never corrupt. He never makes a mistake in what He says. His words are weighty and freeing. His words are life. His words give life.

Jesus put on flesh and dwelt among us that we might have life. He came to destroy the works of the devil. He died to save us from our sin. He rose again from the dead to declare those whom He would save to be righteous and forever be their Advocate. He is good.

Jesus is coming again. He is coming to show His kingship and to bring rest for all those who put their trust in Him. Whoever trusts in Jesus will never be put to shame. He is irreplaceable and thankfully indestructible.

“I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”

Careful Attention

Typically, the more careful attention and observation that you pay to things the longer they last. Whether it be a car, clothes, or a marriage.

Some things in life may not be worth your careful attention and observation, others cannot do without it. It is good to determine how much careful attention you will pay to your phone charger and the dishwasher, as well as for all of your relationships.

The exceptions are that some things, regardless of how much careful attention is paid, are so severely broken and are acted upon by forces that are broken such that the utmost careful attention will not permit them to last.

“We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.” – Hebrews 2:1

“Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.” – Acts 20:28
