Just in case you were wondering how to ripen an avocado faster:
If your avocados need ripening you can place them in a paper bag that will trap the ethylene gas they produce and speed up the ripening process. You can add a tomato, apple, or banana which will speed up the process even more. Avocados turn darker and start to get soft (not too soft). Also if the pit rattles or moves when you shake it… then it is overripe and you are a sucker for buying it. I have been a sucker before.
